The Vision

I wanted to design a collection of 808s that don’t require a chain of five different distortion and EQ plugins just to sound decent. I wanted these samples to sound massive the second you drag and drop them into your sampler. "Vandal" was engineered to bring that raw, aggressive, and rebellious energy to your tracks, giving your low-end the attitude it deserves without compromising mix clarity.
How I Crafted "Vandal" in FL Studio
Creating a professional-grade 808 pack requires a lot more than just boosting the bass on a sine wave. Here is a breakdown of the exact sound design process I used to engineer the Vandal pack:
1. Advanced Wave Shaping & Synthesis
Every single sample in the Vandal pack started its life as a clean, clinical sine wave. Using a mix of analog-modeled synthesizers and digital wave-shapers, I gently introduced harmonic saturation. 2. Surgical Distortion & Warmth

Instead of destroying the entire frequency spectrum (which results in a muddy, unusable low end), I kept the subfrequencies (20Hz–60Hz) clean and compressed, while saturating the midrange to add grit, texture, and character.

An 808 needs to punch you in the chest the millisecond it hits. I meticulously shaped the attack transients of each sample.
